Equifest Qualifiers & Rules
Equifest 23rd
May & 25th July 2010
The above shows are affiliated
to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the
19th – 22nd August 2010. The two highest
exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will
qualify.
Class 7 M&M Large Breeds – to be shown in their natural
state.
Open to In Hand
Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their
respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales,
Fell, Highlands, New Forest, Welsh C and D. Stallion,
mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.
Class 8 M&M Small
Breeds – to be shown in their natural state.
Open to In Hand
Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their
respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor,
Shetland, Welsh A and B. Stallion, mare, colt, filly or
gelding, any age.
Class 16 M&M
Large Breeds – to be shown in their natural state.
Open to Mountain &
Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure
Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Fell,
Highlands, New Forest, Welsh C and D. Stallion, mare or
gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.
Class 17 Show
Hunter Type Show Hunter Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 153cms. Riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.
M&M Small Breeds –
to be shown in their natural state.
Class 18 M&M
Small Breeds – to be shown in their natural state.
Open to Mountain &
Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure
Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A
and B. Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and
over. Rider any age.
Class 19 Hunter
Horse – Over 15hh.
Open Ridden
Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding
153cms. Riders to have attained their 16th
birthday before the 1st January in the
current year.
Class 20 Riding
Horse – Exceeding 148cms
Open Riding Horse,
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, any height.
Riders any age.
Class 21 Ridden
Cob
Open Ridden Cob,
mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cms
but not exceeding 155cms. Riders any age
Class 22 Open
Showing – 14.2hh and under
Open Show Pony,
mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding
148cms. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday
before the 1st January in the current year.
Class 24 Part
Bred Horse/Pony
Stallion, mare or
gelding, 4 years old and over. Exhibits in this section
must be registered in the Part Bred section of their
respective Breed Society.
Class 26 Lead
Rein – not to exceed 12.2hh. (Rider 4 years on day of
competition)
Leading Rein Show
Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over not exceeding
122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th
birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be
led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead
rein to be attached to the noseband only.
Open to Mountain &
Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure
Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland
and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and
over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained
their 9th birthday before 1st January in the
current year. To be led by an attendant and shown in a
Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the
noseband only.
Class 27 First
Ridden – not to exceed 12.2hh. Please see ages below.
First Ridden Show
Pony, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not
exceeding 122cm. Riders not to have attained their 10th
birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be
shown in any suitable bridle. Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland, and Welsh A or B. Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. To be shown in any suitable bridle.
Trailblazers Qualifiers & Rules
Trailblazers 23rd
May, 27th June & 25th
July (27th June including 2nd
round)
All classes have
qualifiers except Class 9, 25, 28, 29, 31 – 35 inclusive
The top three in each
qualifier class will be given an invitation to purchase a 2nd
round card, which enables the competitor to enter any 2nd
round around the country. Each centre i.e Foxes Riding School,
Osbaldeston etc who run 1st rounds have to run one 2nd
round. Foxes 2nd round is 27th June. The top
6 in the 2nd rounds qualify direct to the Trailblazers
Championships, which is held at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire on
Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August. This
is a prestigious unaffiliated championship which is particularly
well run.

The following class rules
differ from other societies:-
Class 12 - Inhand Cob – any
height can enter.
Class 21 - Ridden Cob – any
height can enter.
Class 26 - Lead Rein – the
height can be up to 133cm to accept the qualifier
Class 27 - First Ridden – the
height can be up to 133cm to accept the qualifier
Class 30 - Young Handlers 12
years and under only can accept the qualifier Class
39 & 44 Veterans must be 16 years and over to accept the qualifier
All other class rules are as
stated in the schedule.

Classes 1, 2, 5, 6, 7,
8, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, 36 - 46
This show is a qualifier for
the N.C.P.A. Pony of the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden
Championships to be held in conjunction with the Pony of the Year
Show at Uttoxeter 12th September 2010. First and second prize
winners in appropriate classes will qualify and highest not
qualified in the first six for Part Bred Welsh in appropriate
classes. NCPA are a very well run and friendly organisation and POYS
is an excellent show with rosettes, sashes, medals & trophies
awarded.
