CHILDRENS CAMP ITINERARY 17th – 21st August – £335.

Who can attend?

 

Children with their own ponies who are in a Branch Pony Club are welcome to attend Foxes Camp, but they aren’t able to achieve badges/certificates whilst attending our camp but it will still be great fun. 

Any one who is a Pony Club Centre member is welcome to attend Foxes Camp even if your a member of a different center and haven’t ridden at Foxes before.

If you are a rider and are not a member of any pony club then you will have to join as a  Foxes Pony Club Center Member for a fee of £25 before booking camp. Please ask in the office for a Pony Club Membership application form.

WE INSIST THAT ALL CAMPERS ARE A MEMBER OF A PONY CLUB TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE INSURED WHILST SLEEPING THE NIGHT AT CAMP.

Itinerary 

Monday 17th arrive 9am

  • 9am arrive
  • pony owners settle ponies into stable (and for an extra charge of £12 they can be stabled for the Monday night too)
  • health and safety, camp rules
  • allocation of ponies
  • lunch
  • x Ihr group ride (all rides will be either indoors, outdoors or in the field show jumping or x country, weather permitting)
  • x1 1hr lectures
  • in between riding and lecturing there will be supervised time caring for the horses
  • 5pm home to pack ready for a fun week of camping with John and Anna

Tuesday 18th August – 9am arrive

  • 9am Children arrive and unpack into their tents and mess tent getting ready for the week ahead
  • x1 Ihr group rides (all rides will be either indoors, outdoors or in the field show jumping or x country, weather permitting)
  • x1 1hr lecture
  • lunch
  • x1 1hr lecture
  • x1 Ihr group rides (all rides will be either indoors, outdoors or in the field show jumping or x country, weather permitting)
  • children will be caring for their pony (own pony or riding school pony) which will be supervised throughout the day
  • dinner
  • all children will have shower!! in the shower blocks
  • games night with Anna & John 🙂

Wednesday 19th August

  • 8.30am muck out and groom their ponies
  • breakfast
  • x1 1hr group rides (abilities will be grouped together for maximum benefit)
  • x1 1hr dressage test practice on foot
  • children will be caring for their pony (own pony or riding school pony) which will be supervised throughout the day
  • Lunch
  • x1 1hr group rides (abilities will be grouped together for maximum benefit)
  • x1 1hr course walking, riding good lines lecture
  • muck out their ponies, all children will have a shower!
  • Dinner
  • Movie night & popcorn

Thursday 20th August

  • 8.30 muck out and groom their pony
  • Breakfast
  • x1 1hr group rides (abilities will be grouped together for maximum benefit)
  • x1 1hr lecture/practical’s
  • children will be caring for their pony (own pony or riding school pony) which will be supervised throughout the day
  • Lunch
  • x1 1hr group rides (abilities will be grouped together for maximum benefit)
  • x1 1hr lecture/practical’s
  • muck out their ponies, all children will have a shower!
  • Dinner
  • BBQ & presentation night (parents are welcome 7pm onwards)

Friday 21st August

  • 8.30 muck out and groom their pony
  • Breakfast
  • Competition day where each will compete a dressage test and a round of show jumping. Riders will be in teams for this final day competition. This will be a great end to a fun packed week, allowing the children to go home with a rosette and score sheet from the final days competition.
  • Lunch
  • Competition & results presentation
  • 3pm Finish (parents are welcome to come and watch/help with the final days competition

What will be included:

  • Breakfast ( Wed, Thurs, Fri,)
  • Lunch (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs,Fri)
  • Dinner (Tue, Wed, Thurs)
  • Children with their own ponies will be provided with a stable (straw bed, shaving beds are limited and will only by provided with 2 bales of shavings)
  • Children without their own pony will be provided with a school pony
  • 24hr supervision Tue 9am – Fri 3pm.
  • Evening entertainment
  • Examples of lectures: loading, lungeing, bandaging, tack etc

What you need to bring

  • Body protector
  • Blow up bed or similar camp bed
  • Bedding, (sleeping bag and a duvet and pillow)
  • Snacks or pocket money for the vending machine incase they want chocolate!
  • Torch
  • Waterproof clothing
  • Teddy bear?
  • Towels for their shower, every night
  • Wash bag
  • Those with their own ponies need to bring, hay, feed tack etc as we will only provide a stable and use of the mucking out tools.

 How to book?

 You must pay a £50 deposit on booking (which is non refundable after 1.7.15). The balance must be paid before 18.7.15. Card or cash accepted. Please tel the riding school office to book Tue-Fri 9.30-6pm and book with Karen the secretary. We will then email you a booking form which must be filled in for each camper and returned.
