News – Summer Round Up 2014

Well, what a year we have had at our Centre! Membership has almost doubled and the exam pass rate is at 100% – and to top it all off we haveFoxes Pony Club winning team had a very successful summer! On August the 15th we made the journey to the Centre Championships. Six weeks of team lessons of dressage practise, jumping different courses, learning about high standards of horse and rider turn out for competitions hard work paid off by becoming The Pony Club Centre Champions. Our team consisted of Katie Nickson (Captain), Nicholas Turner, Ellie Williamson and Kate Linford – who had only jumped for four weeks prior to the Trials and got the best score overall in both sections in the whole competition! What a reception we all got when we got back to the stables, lots of happy tears for all. So our two star horses Mollie and Sunny got a great bucket of feed that night and lots of hugs and kisses.  We also received some great PR after this win including an article on Horse & Country TV website!

Team A where also busy earlier this year and organised a Summer BBQ at Thornton Hall Hotel on July 4th to raise money for a proper show block for the Riding School and Camp.  What a great night; there was an auction, a raffle and even our instructor John and Anna’s partner Scotty raised money by doing their rendition of “Britian’s Got Talent” – Boys in Heel’s dance! A total of £1550 was raised and the shower has now been built. By John Gilbert
